General FAQs
What is the Mangy Moose Ski Club?
We’re a new membership ski lounge at one of your favorite familiar places, offering concierge service to skiers, riders, locals and visitors alike to gather, gear up and “get loose at the Moose.” The lounge is a dedicated section of the Mangy Moose restaurant, a home base steps from the mountain lifts. Concierge service will be provided, in partnership, by Black Tie Ski Rentals of Jackson Hole, the local outpost of the premier ski and snowboard rental delivery company. Black Tie Ski Rentals currently serves nearly 50 world-class mountains in North America. So, yeah, they know what they’re doing.
Uh oh. The Mangy Moose is going private.
No, not true. The Mangy Moose remains open to the public. We wouldn’t do you like that. While this ski club is membership-based, the club lounge is exclusively within the restaurant. Mangy Moose’s saloon and cafe are still open to the public.
So you’re saying I can still sit down and eat at the Moose even though I’m not a member?
Yes, that is exactly what we’re saying. You can still grab a bite to eat or drink in our saloon or in our downstairs cafe. And our restaurant is open to the public from 5 pm till close. (Reservations strongly recommended!)
What are the membership benefits?
Lots of good stuff here. Membership benefits to the Mangy Moose Ski Club include your own locker to store your gear for the entire season; ski & boot valet service; dedicated fireside lounge seating from 8 am–4:30 pm; a $500 credit good for food & beverage at the Moose, plus breakfast and lunch service along with full bar access billed to your member house account; a pair of limited-edition Mangy Moose 60th anniversary skis at a $849 value (valid for full-season memberships only); shared community with other enthusiasts passionate about winter activities (who else is gonna want to hear about that epic powder run?); and early access to our restaurant reservations, winter concerts and other special après events.
Is parking included in the membership?
No.
Ok, how much is membership?
A full-season membership is $9800 with all the fixings including the dedicated locker, daily valet, lounge and dining privileges, anniversary skis, a member house account with $500 F&B house credit, and early access to Moose concert tickets.
A transferable property membership is $8800 which is held in the name of a property and transferable among its owners and guests. You get every club privilege except the commemorative skis and the $500 F&B house credit.
How do I join?
For more information or to apply, visit here. Memberships are first-come, first-served until we sell out and are only confirmed once the registration form has been completed and payment has been made.
What do you mean, “until we sell out?”
We’ve capped membership at 100 slots. We want to guarantee every member gets true concierge valet service (boot, ski, and snowboard staging and collection handled for you) without the lounge or the locker room ever feeling crowded. In this case, a smaller club is a better club.
Membership FAQs
I just paid. Now what?
Welcome, founding member! Look out for a welcome email sometime in late October.
How many people are covered under my membership?
Each membership is limited to two adults and up to three dependents aged 21 or younger.
How many people can store stuff in my locker?
A maximum of five people can store gear in your locker. This is defined by two adults and up to three dependents.
Can I choose my locker location?
Unfortunately, no. Your locker will be assigned to you. But don’t fret, they’re brand new with a reprogrammable combination lock to store your personal items safely. Each locker measures 13-3/4" wide, 34-3/4" high and 16-3/4" deep. We will store your skis and boots in a different location so your gear stays dry.
How many pairs of skis and boots can I store with the concierge team?
One membership covers a maximum of five pairs of skis and boots stored with the concierge team.
The Mangy Moose building is big. Where do I enter for club access?
Club access is through a private door on the north side of the building between the Mangy Moose and Crystal Springs. Look for the signs!
I heard there’s an app for the club. Is that true?
Yes, the rumors are true. The Mangy Moose Ski Club app (iOS and Android) keeps you connected to club staff all season. Use it to let us know what day/time you’re arriving, request access for your guests, get on-site help, and pre-order food and drinks before your last run so they’re ready when you come off the mountain.
What are the club hours?
The club runs from 8 am–4:30 pm daily throughout the ski season. Our opening and closing dates coincide with Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s 2026-2027 ski season. This means the first ski date is scheduled for Friday, November 27, 2026.
I want to ride the first tram up. Can I get earlier access to the club?
Yes, we can accommodate an earlier arrival at the club with advanced notice. Yes, we’ll have grab-and-go breakfast burritos and sandwiches available at that time. And yes, they’re tasty.
How do I give advanced notice that I’m arriving early? Can I communicate with the club staff before my arrival?
Members can stay connected with club staff through the app. We highly recommend texting your estimated arrival time the day before to give us time to confirm and prepare.
I’m not interested in riding the first tram. How do I get my skis and boots when I arrive at the club?
All roads lead to the app. We highly recommend texting the day before with your estimated arrival time to confirm and prepare accordingly. Our staff will retrieve your skis and boots and have them ready for you as close to your arrival time as possible.
Cool, I got a $500 food & drink credit to use. How do I access that?
Your house credit will be stored and tracked in the app as a virtual card that can be used anywhere the Mangy Moose offers sit-down food and beverage service, including the club lounge, restaurant, saloon, and cafe. This credit cannot be applied at the market or merch shop.
So I can’t use this $500 house credit for ski rentals or tunes?
No, the house credit is limited to food and beverage at the Mangy Moose during club hours.
I’ve used all my credit. How do I pay for food and beverage in the club?
Members will need to put a credit card on file so their F&B charges can be billed directly to their club account. A 20% gratuity for club staff will be added to all food and beverage tabs. Our staff take care of everything else. This is how we make sure they're taken care of, too.
What kind of ski services does Black Tie offer? Is this free as part of the membership?
Black Tie offers rentals, demos, and overnight tunes for an additional cost for members, but all services are discounted for members and their guests. We will issue an exclusive code valid for the entire season, which we will include in members' welcome packets and can be used by guests who rent from Black Tie's website.
How do I arrange for ski or snowboard tunes?
You can request tunes through the ski club app or by speaking directly with the club staff. Black Tie will provide you with a tune ticket and arrange to bring your equipment back to their warehouse for tuning services and then return everything to the club. Advance notice is preferred but we will try to accommodate overnight tunes.
Guests! Can I sign them up for a daily or weekly pass? What’s the cost?
Sharing is caring. Yes, guests can be covered by a daily or weekly club pass, subject to availability, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
| Individual Guest Pass | Non-peak | Peak |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | $100 | $150 |
| Weekly | $595 | $892.50 |
Peak periods are December 25, 2026–January 3, 2027 and February 12–15, 2027. Register a guest through the app or call Black Tie Ski Rentals at (307) 201-6205.
Wait, more Qs about guests! My guest doesn’t need access to a locker or ski/boot storage. Can they join me in the club for free? Is there a max number of guests I can bring?
Good news: if your guest doesn't need a locker or storage, there's no fee to bring them in. And no, we don't cap your guest count, but slots are subject to availability, so it's first-come, first-served on busy days.
Here's the deal, though, and we say this lovingly: please practice common courtesy when it comes to bringing guests. Rolling in with 15 buddies during peak periods (see above) is not cool. Read the room, share the space, and everybody stays loose at the Moose.
Can I remain at the lounge after the club closes at 4:30 pm to eat at the restaurant?
We cannot guarantee a table for you unless you’ve made a reservation. All tables are subject to availability when the restaurant opens for dinner service to the public at 5 pm. Restaurant reservations will be honored first. If tables are available, our staff will confirm whether you may remain at your current table or need to be moved to another table. We appreciate your flexibility. The safer bet? Make a reservation in advance.
Fine. How do I make advanced dinner reservations?
Members can make OpenTable reservations online at www.mangymoose.com. If you’re old-school, call (307) 733-4913 or speak to the concierge team at the beginning of your day and they’ll see about making reservations for you.
D’oh! I need to back out of the club. What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel your membership before November 1, 2026 without penalty and receive a full refund. All sales are final as of November 1, 2026. No exceptions. Seasonal memberships begin on Friday, November 27, 2026.
When will I get my pair of Mangy Moose 60th anniversary limited-edition skis?
Skis are estimated to arrive in Jackson in early October and be available for in-person pickup at Black Tie Ski Rentals’ downtown Jackson location at 225 W Broadway. If you can’t make it out until later, no worries. Let us know and we’ll happily hold them for you.
Can I specify the length of skis that I want with my membership?
Of course. When you fill out the club’s online registration form, you’ll have the opportunity to request a specific ski length.
